Pregnancy Chiropractic
The Webster technique is a chiropractic evaluation and treatment tailored for the pregnant body.It evaluates the sacrum and it’s alignment within the pelvis. Adjustments are performed to put the sacrum back into the correct alignment and to balance the pelvis. Stretching and massage of the attachment points of the uterine ligaments on the abdominal wall is also performed. The combination of soft tissue work and adjustments serve to decrease the tension of the uterine ligaments on the uterus itself and result in the reduction of intrauterine constraint. With normal tension on the uterus and more room within, the fetus can get into the optimal position, head down.
Dr Savannah is Webster certified and will work with your body through pregnancy AND postpartum recovery.
Post natal recovery care encompasses getting pelvis back to balance postpartum, re-engaging the core and pelvic floor and decreasing neck and shoulder and wrist discomfort from holding a baby(ies).
Infant/Pediatric Chiropractic
The most common reasons for babies to see a chiropractor are nursing dysfunction, colic, sleep issues, plagiocephaly(flatness of the head) and torticollis (head tilted to one side).
Whatever brings your baby into the office, you can rest assured that Dr. Savannah will do a full exam and assessment on your little one and tailor care and treatment to help your baby regain peace and function.
Children of all ages are welcome to the office and chiropractic treatment is encouraged for those who are active in sports and who encounter tumbles, spills and falls on a daily basis.
Craniosacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on technique that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain, decrease dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician, John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.
The technique utilizes a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams - about the weight of a nickel. Dr Savannah will assess and release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system from the skull to the sacrum.
What conditions does CranioSacral Therapy address?
Infant and Childhood Disorders
Migraines and Headaches
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
Stress and Tension-Related Disorders
Concussions and Traumatic Brain Injuries
Chronic Fatigue
Fibromyalgia
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Orthopedic Problems
And Many Other Conditions
Is there any condition for which CST shouldn't be used?
There are certain situations where application of CST would not be recommended. These include conditions where a variation and/or slight increase in intracranial pressure would cause instability. Acute aneurysm, cerebral hemorrhage or other pre-existing severe bleeding disorders are examples of conditions that could be affected by small intracranial pressure changes.
General Chiropractic
Chiropractors is a healthcare physician that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and conservative care of spine-related disorders and other painful joint issues. Chiropractors use adjustments to restore joint function and support the nervous system. They help patients maintain optimal health while avoiding unnecessary drugs or surgery. In addition to adjustments, chiropractors also provide soft-tissue therapies, lifestyle recommendations, and some fitness coaching.
Chiropractic adjustments are safe, specific, and use a controlled force applied to a joint in order to restore proper function and mobility. Stress, accidents, falls, or overexertion can negatively impact your spine, muscles and/or other joints and the nervous system. Left unresolved, this can make you more susceptible to chronic problems.
Dr Savannah’s adjustments are gentle and focused on reducing pain, increasing movement and improving performance.
Reiki
Do you ever come across someone or walk into a room and you can just feel someone’s discomfort/stress, mayne they rub you the wrong way but you can’t explain why? We each have an aura that can be felt through vibrational waves- its where we get the saying- vibes, “we vibe well”, or “ we don’t vibe well together”. You are feeling and reacting to someone who may be having a chakra imbalance- which can happen with stress or sickness and vice versa. Sometimes we experience an imbalance as well- we just don’t feel ourselves whether there is an explanation for it or not.
Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique/art of balancing the chakra systems in order to achieve relaxation and decreasing stress- in turn it promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to be more sensitive to stress and sickness and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
Dr Savannah will discuss with you any issues with certain chakras you may be having and will work on balancing that chakra. Ex: upset tummy- Solar Plexus Chakra, mental fog- Crown/Third eye chakra etc.
Be advised Reiki is not a cure or a replacement for medication, psychotherapist or for serious pathology, it is only a tool to help manage stress and promote relaxation.
